Profile of Jacqueline Zaba
Mrs Jacqueline Zaba is the Special Representative of the President of the ECOWAS Commission in Guinea. She was born on the 19th of September 1957 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. A former minister plenipotentiary and Foreign Affairs Adviser, Mrs Zaba holds a Master’s Degree in Economic and Social Administration specializing in Public Service Management. She had earlier obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in the same field from University of Lyon II, as well as the University of Paris I, Sorbonne, France. She also has a Specialised Post-Graduate Degree (DESS) in Political Science with a bias for Development and Cooperation. She began her public service career in 1991 as Head of Bureau in charge of the United Nations System, the Group of 77 and the Non-Aligned Movement at Burkina Faso’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation. Between 1995 and 2001, she was the head, Asia and Middle East Bureau of the aforementioned ministry and Second Counsellor at the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Bonn and Berlin. From 1991 to 2005, Mrs Zaba was at the National Commission for the Francophonie in Burkina Faso. During the years 2005 to 2008, she was the Technical Adviser to the Deputy Minister for Regional Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation, Burkina Faso. Prior to her appointment as the Special Representative of the ECOWAS Commission President in Guinea, she was the Special Adviser to the Special Representative of the ECOWAS Commission President in Guinea and served in that capacity between 2008 and 2012. Mrs Zaba is an executive member of the Association for the Development of Bazèga Province in Burkina Faso. She is a Knight of the Order of Burkina Faso. She is married with three children. |
