TITLE :RECRUITMENT OF AN ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER TO ASSIST IN THE OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF CABINET TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE ECOWAS COMMISSION
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) represented by the ECOWAS Commission intends to recruit an Administrative Officer to assist in the office of the Director of Cabinet to the President of the ECOWAS commission.
- The main objective is to support the Office of the Director of Cabinet for assessment and review of documents prior to submission to the President of the Commission for decision. Duration: Renewable fixed term of 04 (four) months.
- Duties and responsibilities of the consultant:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Cabinet, the Administrative Officer shall:
- Develop a new procedure for processing requests submitted to the Office of the President;
- Assess incoming and outgoing requests prior to submission to the President
- Enhance workflow management and propose solutions to improve procedures;
- Provide support to the Office of the Director of Cabinet in the assessment and review of requests submitted to the Office;
- Provide day-to-day support in the planning and coordination of activities of the Office of the Director of Cabinet;
- Provide technical and logistics assistance in the planning of activities;
- Monitor the status of requests submitted to the Office;
- Perform any other tasks that may be assigned to him/her by the immediate supervisors and/or the Director.
- The qualifications of the Consultant should include, among others
- University degree (Master or equivalent) in Administration or Management, particularly in the field of business management;
- Proven experience in office management at national or regional level;
- At least seven (7) years’ experience in Administration or Management;
- Prior knowledge of principles, procedures and functioning of Community institutions;
- Good knowledge of ECOWAS vision and policy guidelines;
- Proficiency in IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and excellent communication skills
- Fluency (reading, writing, speaking) in two official languages of the Community, preferably English and French. Knowledge of Portuguese will be an advantage.
- The ECOWAS Commission now invites eligible Consultants (Individual) to indicate their interests in providing these services. The interested Consultants must provide all information supporting their qualification to perform the services (Kindly attach detailed Curriculum Vitae that highlights the following: Curriculum and Certificates; Past Experiences of similar jobs over the past ten (10) years; Computer knowledge; knowledge of the area; language and any other information useful for the accomplishment of this project). Please note that if individual consultants are proposed by firms, only the experience and qualifications of the individuals shall be used in the selection process, their corporate experience shall not be taken into account, and the contract, if given, will be signed with the proposed individual.
- The selection will be done on the basis of a comparison of curricula vitae and interviews and the selected Consultant will be invited for negotiation prior to the conclusion and signing of the Contract Agreement. (Selection method: Individual Consultant). Please note that the selected consultant will be expected to submit all required reports in English and French or Portuguese.
