ECOWAS and Turkey will jointly organise the first TURKEY-ECOWAS ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS FORUM on 22-23 February 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The forum is expected to bring together decision makers and businesspeople from Turkey and ECOWAS to strengthen economic ties and create opportunities for trade and investment. The Commissioner for Industry and Private Sector Promotion, H.E. Kalilou Traore led the ECOWAS delegation to the 2nd preparatory meeting for the forum, which took place in Istanbul on 1-2 November 2017.
Official delegations from member-states at ministerial level, comprising investment promotion agencies will take part in the G2G meetings and will have the opportunity to promote national projects, while the President of the Commission is expected to lead the ECOWAS delegation.
Participation in the forum is opened to all business sectors and particularly road construction, energy, water supply, housing, agriculture, tourism, banking and finance etc. Private sector associations in member-states and at regional level are also expected to take active part.
