TITLE : CONSULTANCY ON THE PROMOTION OF ECOWAS IDEALS IN THE MEMBER STATES.

NOTICE OF RELAUNCH

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) represented by the ECOWAS Commission intends to recruit a consultant for the promotion of ECOWAS ideals in the Member States.

2. In consideration of the task of production and dissemination of regional integration ideals in the ECOWAS Member States, objectives of the consultancy are to:

1. Select five basic education schools in each Member State to benefit from the pilot phase with considerations for geographical spread among urban, rural, and other vulnerable communities;
2. Propose the different sizes and formats of the customized exercise books that conforms with the current practice in each Member state;
3. Propose internal mechanisms in each Member State for the production of the exercise books for distribution in schools, flags to be hoisted side by side with national flags; and flexes for the teaching and propagation ECOWAS Anthem.
4. Propose mechanisms for distribution of the exercise books, flags and flexes for the National Anthem.

3. Duties and responsibilities of the consultant:

The consultant shall collaborate with the National Units and Ministries in charge of Basic Education of each of the fifteen Member States of ECOWAS to:

• Select five pilot schools for the project with considerations for geographical spread among urban, rural, and other vulnerable communities;
• Propose the different sizes and formats of the customized exercise books for each Member State;
• Work out the procurement procedure for the production of the exercise books, ECOWAS Flags and Flexes in each Member State;
• Propose the Budget for the production and distribution of exercise books, ECOWAS Flags and Flexes in each Member State using the allocation of $20,000 for each Member State;
• Propose mechanisms for coordination and selection of schools for subsequent phases of the project.

 

4. The qualifications of the Consultant should include, among others

• Should hold at least a Master’s Degree with good knowledge and experience on educational administration and planning.
• Should possess teaching experience of at least 10 years at the basic education level.
• Should be trained and experienced in the educational administration and planning.
• Should be fluent in English and French. Knowledge of Portuguese will be an advantage.

 

5. The ECOWAS Commission now invites eligible Consultants (Individual) to indicate their interests in providing these services. The interested Consultants must provide all information supporting their qualification to perform the services (Kindly attach detailed Curriculum Vitae that highlights the following: Curriculum and Certificates; Past Experiences of similar jobs over the past ten (10) years; Computer knowledge; knowledge of the area; language and any other information useful for the accomplishment of this project). Please note that if individual consultants are proposed by firms, only the experience and qualifications of the individuals shall be used in the selection process, their corporate experience shall not be taken into account, and the contract, if given, will be signed with the proposed individual.

 

6. The selection will be done on the basis of a comparison of curricula vitae and interviews and the selected Consultant will be invited for negotiation prior to the conclusion and signing of the Contract Agreement.
