 RECRUITMENT OF AN INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT
The overall objective is to conduct an analysis of the health research situation and develop a regional strategic plan to promote health research for the 2020-2030 period
More specifically, the consultancy aims to:
- Describe the way research for health is organized at the regional level and in the 15 ECOWAS member countries (structures, operations, coordination human resources, cooperation, training, publications, key players, strengths and weaknesses) and the needs for strengthening,
- Describe funding for research for health at the regional level and in the 15 ECOWAS member countries and propose mechanism to improve internal funding,
- Identify health research systems strengthening projects and programs the regional level and analyse how WAHO can collaborate,
- Identify research for health strategic partners at the regional level and in the 15 ECOWAS countries,
- Conduct further analysis in the areas of research on health in Universal health coverage, research for health during epidemics, research on drugs, vaccines development and traditional medicines, implementation research, research on one health and proposed mechanism for improvement,
- Analyze the status of research within the West African Health Organization,
- Organize a workshop to validate the outcomes, identify regional priorities and strengthening strategies,
- Develop and validate the regional strategic plan to strengthen research for health
The mission will last a maximum of forty-five (45) working days from the date the contract is signed by both parties.
