ECOWAS Holds 26th Meeting of the Administrative and Finance Committee
24th of November, 2019. The 26th meeting of the Administration and Finance Committee (AFC) of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) opens on the 25th of November 2019 in Abuja Nigeria.
Holding at the main auditorium of the ECOWAS Commission Headquarters, the AFC will be considering among others, the status of tasks assigned to Community Institutions by its earlier meetings. It will also be looking at the financial situation of the community in view of the Community levy report, while considering the status of 2019 Work Programme Implementation as at the ending of September 2019. The AFC is billed to consider the 2020 draft consolidated budget of ECOWAS Institutions as well as the Memorandum on proposed adjustments to the ECOWAS Commission’s Organisational Chart. Regarding items on special projects of the Authority of Heads of State and Government, the AFC will be appraising a memorandum and action plan for regional security and it’s financing The week-long meeting will feature presentations of memoranda on the Operationalisation of the ECOWAS Regional Community Radio and the situation with contract and redundant staff. Also to take place is the launch of the ECOWAS Peace Fund (EPF) website and web portal for Civil Society Organisations working in the area of peace and security in Member States. The AFC which winds up on December 1st 2019 after a presentation of the Auditor-General’s interim report, will be graced by high-level bureaucrats of the Commission. |
