ECOWAS – Accra summit to review regional political, security situation
46th Ordinay session of ECOWAS-CEDEAO-Abuja, Nigeria, Dec 2014Political and security situation in Member States, particularly Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau will dominate deliberations at the 47th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government taking place on Tuesday, 19th May 2015 in Accra, Ghana.

The President of the ECOWAS Commission H.E. Kadré Désiré Ouédraogo will present Memoranda on the countries to the regional leaders, who will also consider reports of the preceding 34th Mediation and Security Council meeting, and the 74th session of Council of Ministers.

The summit will also consider the Commission President’s 2015 Interim Report as well as feature the signing of some Community Acts and Decisions, and fix the date and venue for the 48th Ordinary Session.
The opening ceremony will be addressed by the current ECOWAS Chairman, Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama, and with goodwill messages from the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative in West Africa and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, among others.
